The Madeline is excited to welcome the Fall season! Fall is tucked in between the blazing hot days of summer and colder days of Winter. Not to mention the beautiful colors that come with Fall; the leaves that are changing to the vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold. Fall is the perfect time to spend time outdoors. Though we are not able to plan events just yet due to the pandemic, with all precautionary measures in place, we will enjoy the beautiful outdoors with small groups of residents, taking in the beautiful canvas that is painted by the Fall season.
Last year our “Madeline’s Becaon of Light” team participated in the annual walk to end Alzheimer’s. THis year the walk is on November 7th, however, it will look a lot different than years past. Due to the pandemic it will not be a large in-person walk. However, you can still do your part; gather your family and friends to create your own small group and/or teams to walk and raise funds. You can register your team here. Just like last year, we have t-shirts for sale at $10.00 each and all proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. If you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt please contact our Programming Director, Danielle Choffrey.

September was a wonderful month for everyone here at The Madeline of Decatur! Though we cannot host any events or have anyone visit because of the pandemic, we still know how to have fun and keep everyone safe. We celebrated residents’ birthdays with delicious cakes and refreshing drinks, and we even celebrated National Assisted Living Week. Our staff and residents were dressed head to toe in Hawaiian luau gear: from hula skirts, to decorative leis, and fancy coconut drinks. We had such a blast! We want to thank every single one of our staff members for always being there for our residents at The Madeline. Without every one of you, we couldn’t provide the quality care that we do today. Thank you!
